I love reaction channels. Mostly I gravitate to the younger (what this 80s gal calls “The Hip-Hop Crowd”) as I love when they discover our classics without all that auto tune and are shocked they are playing all their own instruments… often live too!! What made me subscribe to your channel just now is how you get into the vocal and musical nuances. I’m a gal who somehow remembers lyrics and like you, really gets into vocal nuances as well as the little things instrumentally. I discovered REO Brothers through reaction channels. (Also how I got into Nightwish which is now my all-time favorite group!). I am amazed at their vocal diversity amongst the five and how depending on song covered, which brother is leading. It surprises me every time with each cover I watch! They have an incredible natural ear for hearing the original and come out almost the same. Even with The Bee Gees which is mind blowing! The lead singer in this one (blue shirt) is completely feeling the vocal nuances seen in his soulful approach to mic. The guitar work seems so natural and he feels every cord like it’s an extension of his body! ! Love it.🙌🏼🔥 I hate to say this, but I prefer REO Brothers version of Sultans of Swing!! 😲🎉

Thank you for this great video. Jeff Beck stopped using picks during the There And Back Tour in 1981 : he lost his pick on stage while he was playing and continued without it. The Blow By Blow original version was played on a telecaster with hambucking pickups but no whammy bar (even if the picture on the cover is a Les Paul), which is very different from this one on a SSS strat... Anyway the wizardry remains the same, as usual with Jeff.

Good morning guys!🌞 Doug! Good to see you back on screen, buddy! Missed you.🫶 This is my first time popping into one of these sessions. I always figured it was for other musicians to join in. Silly me. Now I have to go back and watch the others. Everything sounds balanced out here in Listenerland. I’m glad I decided to stop in and check it out. Back in the 80’s when I was living in the Bay Area (San Francisco peninsula) I think I told you about having two drummers sharing the house with me, one a jazz drummer and the other heavy metal. My girlfriend was a keyboard player, and my best friend in the area was a guitarist. There was a place my girlfriend, the guitarist and I used to go to often called Friday Night Music. It was done in a great big house, and all of the rooms in the house, and the garage, were mic’d and set up with everything coming back to the central mixing board in the kitchen (an island between the kitchen and dining room) where the sound and recording could be controlled. There were always several dozen musicians with various instruments there, and people would take turns being ‘the producer’. The producer chose which musicians, which instruments, and which style/genre of music to play. The musicians went to the various rooms and the percussion was all set up in the garage. There were a couple of drums kits set up, and various other percussion instruments. It was interesting because they couldn’t see each other.
